Chances are, if you’ve had a family portrait or senior portrait designed by our studio, you’ve already had the joy of meeting Samantha (also known as our Sam)! For those that are newer to our studio and team, I wanted to take a moment to introduce you to my right-hand woman, Sam.

I’ve had the privilege of working alongside Sam for a while now, and I honestly don’t know what I’d do without her! She recently married the love of her life and took a romantic honeymoon to Paris, and I quickly realized that two weeks without Sam was two weeks too long! From editing portraits to assisting during sessions to being our resident “dog whisperer,” Sam helps us create beautiful, heirloom portraits for our wonderful clients and so much more!

For those that have met Sam, I’m so excited for you to get to know her a little better. For those yet to meet her, she’s been an invaluable addition to our team, and we know you are going to feel the same way, too!

Now, without further ado, meet the talented, Sam.

Tell us how you joined the team in a few sentences: I met Tanya through a photographer I had interned with. She needed assistance on a session and I was referred to her! After that, I started working for her more while I was finishing up school.

Tell us what you do as part of the Oh Goodness team: My job is photography editor and session assistant. I started out by helping Tanya during sessions with lighting and trouble-shooting. Then I stated doing some editing for her. Now I do all editing in house for our clients’ portrait, while still assisting during  sessions.

Hometown: I’m from Thomasville, NC.

Birthday: April 22, 1991. Earth Day!

Something you might not know about her: Before going to school for photography, I went to school for art and design at UNCC. Also, I absolutely adore animals and, once upon a time, thought about being a vet.

Favorite part about Winston Salem: I love the downtown area, especially the arts district.
