An Artist With a Purpose

Meet Tanya

Tanya Odom is an award winning portrait artist and is the principal photographer and owner of Oh, Goodness-Fine Portraits. Together with her knowledgeable and experienced staff, Tanya strives to nurture lasting relationships with her portrait clients and is repeatedly asked by clients to photograph their families over and over again. Tanya is thrilled to deliver pieces that speak to their heart.

Growing up with cameras, a darkroom and the knowledge her father handed down, Tanya was inspired to pursue what she fell in love with, creating portraits. Being surrounded by portraits of her family, especially those who were no longer living, has given her a sense of place in her life and an understanding of her heritage.

A firm believer in life-long learning, Tanya continued her formal training with the Professional Photographers of America (PPA) and completed their requirements to receive the designation of Certified Professional Photographer. She was honored to have one of her images was selected as one of the Top 10 Children’s Images of 2018 by the PPA during their Grand Imaging Awards ceremony.

Tanya and her husband, Sam, met in college at UNC and have shared the last 38 years together. They love spending time with their two daughters, one son and their son-in-law (as well as their two grand-puppies) preferably hiking in the NC mountains or just relaxing. In addition, they enjoy active participation and fellowship in their church and the Winston-Salem community. Tanya has supported Stepping Stones Canine Rescue through several large fundraisers with Oh, Goodness and currently fosters dogs for their program

Giving Back

As a resident of Winston-Salem for over 30 years and a business owner in the community for more than 16 years, Tanya Odom feels incredibly blessed to be part of the vibrant and generous community of Winston-Salem. She is known for her support of non-profit organizations in the area by generously donating to silent auction events and giving of her time to partner with non-profits who need her expertise to further their mission. Her previous involvement with the Reynolda Rotary allowed her to volunteer beyond her business with her time. Nothing brings her and her team more joy than always looking for new ways to give back.

Specifically, her commitment to autism research has resulted in her support and volunteerism with ABC of NC as their primary resource for photography and portrait needs.

She is also an animal lover and created the Dogs of Winston-Salem book project which benefits Stepping Stones Canine Rescue. The two volumes raised over $25,000 for Stepping Stones and their mission to help find forever homes for dogs in the Winston-Salem area.

As an active supporter of the SECU Family House, Oh, Goodness helps to sponsor the Family House’s biggest fundraiser of the year, Men Who Cook. The work of the SECU Family House is vital to the families of many who come to the Winston-Salem area for treatment at our world-renowned medical centers.
